Sophie launched campaign to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.
Local Labour Assembly Candidate Sophie Howe has launched her "Safer Streets" campaign which is aimed at forcing Liberal Democrat run Cardiff City Council to listen to the concerns of local people and to change their "soft on crime, soft on street gangs" approach to law and order here in Cardiff North.
Sophie said "I recently conducted a local resident's survey, asking people what were the main issues of concern to them. 87% of those who responded, across Cardiff North, clearly said that crime and anti-social behaviour was a problem in their area, and that the Liberal Democrat run city council, was complacent, ignorant of local people's worries and more interested in making excuses for the criminals than standing up for the rights of law abiding residents."
With your support - we can and will make Cardiff North a better place for all
Sophie added "I realise it's just not enough for me to acknowledge peoples problems, and offer them only my sympathy. I therefore pledge that should I be elected to represent Cardiff North in the Welsh Assembly, that I will fight to ensure that Cardiff North receives it's fair share of the £24 million set aside by the Assembly to provide safer communities. I will look to provide more community support officers here in Cardiff North and will of course work with the police to ensure that local people do feel safer in their own streets and communities."
