Many youngsters in Whitchurch have missed the play equipment which was removed from the Library Park last September after it failed health and safety tests.
Sophie has strongly criticised the Council for removing the equipment without notice and without a plan to replace it. She has complained for replacement equipment to be installed here and at other parks across the City and is putting a motion to Council this week about this.
Sophie has also demanded that parents and children are consulted on the type of play equipment they want in their parks and has led the way on this by demanding that consultation took place with children in Whitchurch.
More than 50 people voted for their favourite equipment during a consultation in the Library and we are displaying the items which have been chosen. Sophie has been promised that the equipment will be installed in February in time for the half term holidays.
